Scott’s mother suffers from Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and Insomnia.  Scott recommended to his mother, Ellen, to experiment with his formulated CBD products.  The insomnia symptoms disappeared almost immediately and after a few weeks, the RA effects significantly lessen enabling her to reduce prescription drug intake. 
Ellen’s pain is more manageable and her mobility has greatly increased allowing a much better daily experience of life.

What The Research Says About CBD And Its Effects On Anxiety
At this time, it’s not clear how CBD treats anxiety. Some research has shown that it may work by affecting serotonin levels in the brain. Serotonin is a chemical in your body that plays a role in your mood, sleep, digestion, and behavior. Research suggests that serotonin levels can help treat anxiety and depression. Certain medications, such as antidepressants, work by regulating serotonin levels.
According to the authors of one review, CBD interacts with the cannabinoid type 1 receptor (CB1R), the serotonin 5-HT1A receptor, and other receptors in the brain that regulate fear and anxiety-induced behaviors.

  • Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD)
In a more recent 2020 study, researchers evaluated CBD’s effects in 397 adults living in New Zealand. The study participants received medical CBD prescriptions for a variety of ailments, including non-cancer pain, cancer-related symptoms, neurological symptoms, and mental health symptoms. All groups reported improvements in their overall quality of life after 3 weeks of CBD use. The individuals who received CBD for anxiety or depression
reportedly experienced improvements in their ability to perform daily functions and reduced anxiety or depression symptoms.
 
70% of study participants reported some level of satisfaction with CBD ranging from good to excellent. Only 9.9% of participants experienced adverse side effects, such as sedation and vivid dreams. An even smaller portion of the study population (0.8%) reported worsening symptoms. The authors found evidence to support the use of CBD as an effective monotherapy or complementary therapy for treating generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
